I have been using this office for literally decades. It has become decidedly even much better since new owners took over. I drive from Chula Vista to take my pets here. I really appreciate the no pressure approach to care for my pets. I like to know my options and order of importance and then decide what my budget can afford while still keeping my pets doing well. Thank you!!!
Reasonable price
We have taken our Sofie to ABC Vets for almost 15 years. We have taken our dogs before here. We love the attention all your staff give to our Rozee. And gave to our Sofie in earlier years. You listen to us and describe things in a way we can understand. Charla is always great, there with a smile. The love and kindness with which you treat the animals. also. Everyone is kind and professional, always sympathetic to our pets’ troubles, and tries to find the best way to help them. They are all so gentle with the pets. You can tell they love animals.
I have been looking for a new vet for some time. Our vet of 15 years retired. I was looking for good bedside manner, reasonable pricing, ability to be able to get in without having to wait weeks. ABC Vets in PB met all those criteria. I have dogs and cats. My first visit was with a stray mama cat that I decided to take in. I needed to get her in for a checkup and vaccines. I called and they scheduled me that same week. The staff and vet were all super nice. The vet advised me on how to help mama take care of her kittens. On our 2nd vaccine follow up, I was in and out in 15 minutes. They didn’t charge me to see the vet just for the shots. I love that. With everything so expensive, I appreciate that.
Reasonable price
Tremendous care shown for my cat. Dr. Sayres got down on his level to evaluate him, took care not to rush, gentle, and was sure of what she was doing. Quiet competence is very reassuring. Put him in a quiet room as soon as we came in. Fernanda helped me get him into the pet carrier when we were leaving! I’ve never had that level of assistance and I really welcomed it. Fernanda was also very understanding and helpful when presenting the treatment options. And she gave Shredder a treat 🙂

ABC in PB has been so great to our family. With an aging cat and dog we have had to deal with a lot of issues. Dr. Z and her team truly care and take the time to guide us and make sure we are comfortable through every step. Dealing with a terminally ill pet has been devastating, but our beloved practice gave our fur baby comfort and vitality during the last season of his life. We could not have gone through this phase without ABC.
Our dog receives acupuncture (one of the only spots in town for this), and she has responded beautifully. We even started up agility classes with her again! Her treatment plan and blend of eastern medicine has worked wonders.
I can’t say enough great things about this place. It’s clean, the staff are great, and the doctors are top notch. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for an amazing local, NON-Corporate, family-owned vet practice.
Had a great first experience at ABC Vet! I was able to easily book an appointment to get my puppy in the next day. The staff were so friendly – especially Bayleigh at the front desk! She was so warm and made my puppy feel comfortable. Wait times were short, and they gave us a new member discount, which was nice.
Amazing care, everyone was so sweet and professional, I will definitely recommend them to everyone!! I honestly had the best care with EVERYONE, but I do have to mention Charla, who helped me out at the front desk, was so sweet and helped me through a situation that I was having somewhere else! Everyone was so sweet and patient. I loved Alyssa, who helped me with all my questions, and Dr Robin was SO SWEET with my dog, Marley, who loved her right away! Very caring and sweet!
I have been taking my Dog here for several years, and they’ve always done an amazing job, from surgeries to check-ups. I had to take him in to be put to sleep, and they gave him dignity in his final hour with us that made his passing a lot less painful. We’re very grateful for Dr. Sayres and the team there.
I pretty much live at my vet. They have done a great job helping me manage my animals over the years. My little old dog just had some surgery and she is doing really well! I would absolutely recommend these guys to anyone looking for a vet. The doctors are great, the front counter staff are lovely, and everyone always makes my visits go well.
