Pet Biopsy

Dermatologists use skin biopsies as a diagnostic tool and prescribe them in various scenarios. A skin biopsy may be performed to remove a skin lesion such as a tumor, acquire a tissue sample for deep tissue culture, or make an accurate diagnosis when changes to the skin, hair, or nails occur.

Skin biopsy techniques entail obtaining tissue samples, storing them in formalin (formaldehyde), and submitting them to a dermatologist for analysis. Usually, the findings take roughly 2-3 weeks to arrive. The results will be utilized to create a treatment plan that will directly address the conclusion.

Your pet will be sedated for the treatment and will most likely be subdued and lethargic for the rest of the day, so they should be monitored appropriately.
